This is a 100% cotton tea towel, measuring 27"x27". These towels feel quite sturdy. Sewn across one corner, on the back, is a lightweight cotton strip for hanging in the kitchen (or wherever).
To preserve color, I would still primarily wash in cold/cool water and hang to dry, though the occasional trip through the dryer on low should be fine.
